Autumn Young is an Orthotics and Prosthetics Resident from Medina, OH. She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan’s Master’s program in Orthotics and Prosthetics and is currently employed at Hanger Clinic in Akron, OH. Young has been a ROMP Ambassador since 2021 and plans on using her passions and experiences to help people reach their mobility goals and continue the fight for accessibility of orthotics and prosthetics care for all. Apart from work and being a ROMP ambassador, Young enjoys climbing with fellow ambassador Kaleigh Neely, going on hikes with her cat Mia, and reading books in her hammock.
Her 'Why': Young has always had a passion for helping those disproportionately affected by a lack of access to healthcare. ROMP spoke to her class in 2021 and she was hooked. She has been involved in ROMP ever since as a way to raise awareness for sustainable mobility care for all.
Favorite ROMP Moment: Her favorite ROMP moment was during her trip to Ecuador in May of 2022 while she was providing comprehensive prosthetic care to 4 patients. By the end of the clinical week, every patient was able to walk out of the clinic on their new prostheses.
