Madeline Hoffner is the Vice President for our 2023 Junior Board of Directors. Hoffner is a physical therapist & Pilates instructor from Rockville, Maryland. She is a graduate of University of Maryland- Baltimore with a Doctor of Physical Therapy and currently owns her own business called AT THE CORE PHYSICAL THERAPY. Hoffner has been a ROMP Ambassador since 2019 and plans on using her passions and experiences to continue changing lives through accessibility & mobility.
Apart from work and being a ROMP ambassador, Hoffner enjoys traveling, dancing, and spending time with her cat, Laila.
Her ‘Why’: When I saw ROMP’s tent at a Hanger Mobility event in Denver, I immediately signed up as a volunteer, no questions asked! Being an ambassador is a combination of all of my passions- physical therapy, helping others, traveling, connecting, advocating, and spreading love. As someone who lives with an “invisible illness,” mobility is crucial for my chronic pain management and relief. For this reason, I am so grateful for my mobility. I move for ROMP to give others the chance to gain freedom too.
Favorite ROMP Moment: During both of my trips to Guatemala, I encountered many memorable patients. I particularly loved seeing Ana Victoria again after 3 years. She grew so much and continues to be so confident in her prosthetic. Another little one, Carol, was shy at first. However, when we started throwing leaves around the mobility park, Carol was directing our video shoot and demanding more volunteers to join her! She was able to use her new arm to pick up leaves with both hands and throw them up in the air! What an amazing moment of joy and the video captures it all.
