Leslie Martinez
Leslie Gabriela Martinez is a Resident Prosthetist-Orthotist from the south suburbs of Chicago, IL. She is a graduate of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine with a Master's degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics and is currently employed at an O&P clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. Martinez is one of ROMP’s 2024 Ambassador team and plans on using her passions and experiences to increase overall awareness of the lack of access to prosthetic care in the US and Latin American countries while working within the O&P community to support such philanthropic initiatives to increase overall awareness and cultural competency for the benefit of future patients.
Apart from school, work, and being a ROMP ambassador, Martinez enjoys exploring dainty little coffee shops and hiking with her fiancé, taking their floof Aspen for strollss & saying "big stretch" when prompted, and of course, giving back to the community. It is the easiest way to make family.
Her ‘Why’: What made you get involved with ROMP as one of their Ambassadors? It is so easy to engulf yourself in the ROMP community and learn from the differentiating leaders that play a huge role in making ROMP's initiatives happen. I hope to take these skills to continue to raise awareness on a very important cause while empowering future CPOs to continuously practice servant leadership for the betterment of the profession.
Favorite ROMP Moment: It is impossible to pick one moment given that every delivery of ROMP Guatemala 2023 resulted in waterfalls and tugs at the heartstrings. Simply genuine love filling the air between so many people!
