In early 2024, ROMP announced the expansion of their warehouse, a pivotal step forward in their mission to increase access to prosthetic care for underserved amputees. This exciting development means ROMP can now receive more donated supplies than ever before, thanks to their strong partnerships with clinics and individuals through the Components for a Cause (C4C) program. With this new space, ROMP is well-positioned to serve more amputees globally by providing the prosthetic components and materials necessary for restoring mobility and independence.
Expanding Capacity for Life-Changing Impact
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that amputees in underserved communities have access to the prosthetic care they need, the warehouse is a critical part of ROMP’s operation; it’s where the donated prosthetic components from C4C are processed, sorted, and shipped to our full-time clinics in Guatemala and Ecuador. The expanded space will allow ROMP to receive and organize an increased volume of donations, guaranteeing that no component goes to waste.
By increasing our storage capacity, ROMP is ready to process more materials, build more prostheses, and help more people reclaim their mobility. This expansion is not just about physical space—it’s about extending the reach of the organization's impact, providing individuals with the tools they need to walk, run, and thrive once again. The Components for a Cause (C4C) program has been instrumental in allowing ROMP to gather the prosthetic components needed to make this life-changing work possible. C4C facilitates the donation of unused or gently used prosthetic parts from clinics, manufacturers, and individuals, ensuring these components do not end up as waste; instead, they are repurposed to serve those who need them most. Now, ROMP is better equipped to handle the influx of donations from C4C, ensuring that these vital materials can be sorted, inventoried, and distributed efficiently. Whether it’s a knee joint, foot, or socket, every component has the potential to transform the life of an amputee in need.
Welcoming Toni Gloria: Our New Warehouse and Inventory Associate
In addition to gaining more warehouse area, Toni Gloria has joined the ROMP team as our new Warehouse and Inventory Associate. Toni brings a wealth of experience in logistics and inventory management, and we are fortunate to have her on board as ROMP grows our operations. Toni’s role is crucial to the smooth functioning of ROMP's warehouse - she will oversee the intake and organization of donations, making sure that all components are logged, categorized, stored properly (before shipping them to our Latin American clinics). "Working for ROMP has been incredibly rewarding, knowing that the work I do directly supports life-changing outcomes for people in need,” Toni explains. “Since joining the team, one of my main goals has been to ensure that our clinics always have what they need to serve their patients.”
With her keen attention to detail and passion for making a difference, Toni has helped consolidate the warehouse operations, making it easier for the ROMP team to quickly match donated components with the patients who need them. “I’ve worked on streamlining inventory processes and providing extra support that wasn’t available before, from optimizing our supply chain to implementing new organizational systems.”
Toni’s arrival marks a new chapter for ROMP as they continue to scale their impact. Her expertise in managing the organization's growing inventory will ensure that ROMP can keep pace with the increasing volume of donations, while maintaining the high level of efficiency and care that patients rely on. “It’s exciting to be part of this expansion, and I look forward to continuing to help ROMP grow and reach even more people."
A Look Ahead
With the expansion of our warehouse and the addition of Toni Gloria to the team, ROMP is more prepared than ever to meet the needs of amputees around the world. "We incredibly excited about the increased capacity to receive and organize donations, which will directly translate into more lives changed through access to quality prosthetic care," Sydney Marshburn, ROMP's Social Media and Outreach Manager stated. "As we continue to grow, we’re grateful for the unwavering support of our donors, partners, and the community of advocates who believe in ROMP’s mission. Together, we are making mobility a reality for all, and we look forward to the new opportunities that this warehouse expansion will bring."
